Think Equal Secures Lifelines Funding for Mental Health First Aid Training

With mental health disorders affecting 1 in 5 young people in England, and referrals for 5–10-year-olds surpassing those for adults, Think Equal has received vital funding from Lifelines to develop a free, open-source Mental Health First Aid Strategies (MHFAS) training program. This 10-module digital course, co-created with UNESCO, Cambridge University, and WHO experts, equips early years practitioners with practical tools to address mental health challenges in children under 5. Covering topics like recognizing distress, managing behaviours, and building emotional intelligence, the training aims to empower educators, reduce stress, and foster healthier environments for young children, with plans to expand resources for parents and caregivers.
