This esteemed program, hosted by the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan UK, will take place from
Sunday, July 20th to Sunday, August 10th, 2025.

The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan UK, established in 1972, is a cornerstone for promoting and
preserving South Asian heritage, particularly Indian arts, music, and literature, in the UK.

Operating from its West Kensington hub in London, Bhavan UK annually serves over 800
individuals through its diverse programs and hosts more than 80 unique cultural events,
reaching nearly 250,000 audience members both online and in its 295-seater auditorium.

The ‘Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan UK – Grishma Vidya Shibira’ is an annual tradition since the
early 1980s, offering high-quality, intensive learning modules in various Indian classical art
forms. For four weeks, participants will immerse themselves in subjects like Kathak,
Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Sitar, Hindustani vocal, Karnatic vocal, Tabla,
Mridangam, Bengali music, Spoken Hindi, Sanskrit, Bengali, and Violin. The program
culminates in a two-day finale event showcasing the students’ talents.

This year’s summer school expects 230-250 participants, including both UK-based and
international artists, fostering a rich and diverse learning environment. The program is
designed for advanced students and experienced artists seeking to deepen their
understanding, refine their craft, and gain new perspectives through cultural exchange and
professional development.

Lifelines is honoured to support this vital project, which not only enhances artistic skills and
cultural knowledge but also fosters professional networking and contributes significantly to
the preservation of South Asian heritage.
