Rupin Vadera

Kenyan born Rupin moved to England in 1973 as a teenager, to further his education. He then chose to establish his own successful property and financial advisory business, rather than join the traditional multi-generational family business enterprise.

His career spanned over four decades, within this sector, handling a range of diverse projects from inner city regeneration projects to investment advisory, building a lasting reputation with his long-standing clients of building successful relationships and empowering sustained growth in their investments.

Rupin’s sustaining passion, inspired by the family’s philanthropic philosophy, is that of supporting and building transformational education projects. This led him to become a key driving force in the establishment of the UK arm of a global spiritual education charity – Chinmaya Mission. Rupin was the President and Trustee of Chinmaya Mission for nearly 25 years, during which time the charity grew to become an established and highly regarded institute for the study of Vedanta, spirituality, Hindu studies, Sanskrit and Indian cultural activities, within the UK.

Indeed the charity’s motto ‘ maximum happiness for the maximum number of people’ is one that is reflected in all Rupin’s philanthropic activities – such as a pursuing a project to establish libraries for all blind and sensory impaired children ( with Sense International), working to support a global project pioneering social emotional learning for children (Think Equal) and sponsoring the establishment of a unique library in the very first accredited university in India dedicated to the study or Sanskrit and Indic Traditions. (Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth).

Amongst his other achievements Rupin has served on the Bank of England Committee, has been an adviser to Sense Romania and leads regular adult study classes in Hindu philosophy.

Rupin is passionate about cricket, tennis and classic cars. Rupin has been involved in the work of Lifelines since 2009.
